About this photograph :
Un soir aux Indes
« The 15th of August in Bombay, the traditional feast of Ganesh merges with the celebration of independence whose 1st day Salman Rushdie described magnificently in " Les enfants de minuit ". On the beach of Chowpati at the foot of Malabar Hill, that we discover from the footbridge that spans " Ocean Drive " the dressed - up crowd, a few saris in the colours of the republic, roam and prepare themselves for a giant picnic. In the light of the monsoon, the silhouettes multiply ad infinitum before an empty ocean. It is a photograph "eyes wide open" » FM
About the artist :
Fabrice
Malzieu
Fabrice Malzieu discovered photography through cinema, which was the subject of his university studies. He made it his profession after his travels from which he brought back images for several magazines. His professional experience, through reportages, portraits, editorial photos, and his personal experiences, nourishes a corpus of images that he has exhibited for almost a decade. Throughout the varied themes that he addresses, he says that he searches for a "photographic truth" in a complex relationship, in which memory is the theatre between that which was and that which we wanted or believed to see. At the age of 55, Fabrice Malzieu lives and works in Paris with his wife and his two sons.
