Biography
Patrick Gonzalès is a 43 year old artist who lives in Dijon, France. During his love affair with art, he was interested in painting, but in 1998 he turned to digital photography techniques. « Unfortunately I don’t know his paintings, but regarding his photography, I admit that his photos are full of magic and that they transport us to another world. ». His main theme is dreams and childhood. Influenced by surrealism, Patrick Gonzales takes us to a universe worthy of the Little Prince or of Chihiro’s journey. Familiarising ourselves with his photos gives us the opportunity to travel on a rhinoceros’ back, to swim with a gigantic fish, to accost an unusual butterfly. All of this takes place in an imaginary scenario, full of gigantic flowers whose shadows could hide a dove, where a tortoise is flying in the sky with the aid of a balloon. All the photos that we can see are in black and white which intensifies the marvellous surroundings. Patrick Gonzales takes us to a fantasy world where imagination transforms our everyday life into a dreamlike journey.
