After studying at the School of Beaux Arts, then at the Ecole Supérieure d’Arts Graphiques in Paris, Patrick de Wilde became artistic director of the Marie Claire group. He then created magazines and reviews in a graphic arts studio whilst pursuing artistic activity. Chief editor of Expansion Voyages, collection director at Atlas Editions, department head at Jeune Afrique, for about thirty years he has collaborated as a photo reporter with many magazines such as "Grands Reportages", "BBC Wild Life", "Géo", "Terre Sauvage", "Animan", "Airone", "Terra". He has published about thirty books ‘Buddhist Thailand’ (La Thaïlande des Bonzes), "Jaïnism in India" (L’Inde des Jaïns), "The Book of Large Spaces" (Le livre des Grands Espaces), "Safari" (Safaris), "Extreme South" (Extrême-Sud), "At Head Height" (A Hauteur d’Hommes), "The Plurial Man" (L’Homme Pluriel)… many of which have been translated into several languages. His work has been exhibited in Paris (UNESCO, the Grand Palais…) and in Province (Le Mans, Avignon, Blois, Massy…)After his dedication to religion, extreme surroundings and wild life, Patrick de Wilde studied the least accessible people in the world.
